Introduction
Tamor Sanima Energy (P) Ltd (TSEPL) is a company incorporated under Nepalese legislation in the year 2008 with a motive to generate hydro-electricity in Nepal. Currently, it is in the verse of developing Upper Tamor Hydropower Project (285 MW). TSEPL has received the Generation License for the development of the Upper Tamor Hydropower Project situated at the Taplejung district, Phungling Municipality and Phaktanglung Rural Municipality.
The feasibility study and the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of the project were conducted by Sanima Hydro and Engineering Pvt. Ltd (SHEPL). After the Feasibility Study and the EIA were approved by the then Ministry of Population and Environment (MoPE), the Government of Nepal (GoN) issued a Generation License for the project on Jestha 27, 2075 B.S. The license allows TSEPL to implement the project under a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.
